Abstract. The article describes stylistic means of expressiveness used to verbalize the concept WOMAN in the modern English-language novel. The research objective includes identifying the gender markers typical of male and female authors’ manner of describing a woman’s appearance, emotional and sensual sphere. Figurative means are analysed from the viewpoint of gender semantics, which constitutes originality of the study. The conclusions are made that gender specificity manifests itself both at the lexical level and at the level of the concept modelling.
