Choice of Professionally Oriented Educational Texts and Description of Their Communicative Arrangement on the Basis of Meta-Thematic Approach (by the Material of Engineering-Technical Profile Texts)

Abstract. The article describes specificity of the meta-thematic approach as one of the most efficient means to describe the text communicative arrangement and to choose educational texts while teaching professional foreign language to BachelorТs degree students, MasterТs degree students and postgraduate students of the engineering-technical profile. The author summarizes results of a meta-thematic analysis conducted by the material of nearly forty most popular textbooks and studentТs guides on profile disciplines; identifies realization of seven most frequent meta-themes, proposes some observations on how specificity of the text communicative arrangement influences techniques of working with the text in the classroom. Prospects for further study of this problem are determined.
