Attempt of Teaching the Second Foreign Language to Students Pursuing Undergraduate Degree in "Tourism" Based on Meta-Subject Approach

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate particular nature of teaching the second foreign language to students pursuing the undergraduate degree in "Tourism" based on the meta-subject approach. The article considers the notion of "meta-learning" and its correlation with future professional activities in the tourism sector. Scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that the proposed algorithm for meta-competencies formation contributes to the author’s methodology for teaching the second foreign language (Spanish) on the basis of the first foreign language (English) to undergraduate students of the tourism sector. As a result of the study, using specific examples, the researcher has demonstrated particular nature of teaching the second foreign language to students pursuing the undergraduate degree in "Tourism" based on the meta-subject approach and the potential of its actual use in educational practice.
