Lexical-Semantic Field "Food" in Ernest Hemingway’s "The Sun Also Rises"

Abstract. The aim of the study is to describe the structure, composition and interaction of the lexical units of the lexical-semantic field "Food" in Ernest Hemingway’s novel "The Sun Also Rises" using the example of the microfield "Alcoholic drinks of plant origin". The scientific novelty lies in the fact that field studies of vocabulary with the semantics of food by the material of E. Hemingway’s work "The Sun Also Rises" are carried out for the first time. As a result, on the basis of pre-selected vocabulary, the lexical-semantic field "Food" was built in Ernest Hemingway’s novel "The Sun Also Rises". The microfield "Alcoholic drinks of plant origin" was examined more closely, the place of this microfield in the structure of the lexical-semantic field "Food" was indicated, and differential features were identified, on the basis of which lexical units can be divided within the microfield.
