Abstract. The aim of the study is to characterize imperative sentences in the Ingush language as a special semantic-grammatical category of the modern Ingush language. The grammatical nature of imperative sentences in the language under consideration is a correlation between morphology and syntax. The article reveals the morphological means used to express motivation, as well as the peculiarity of the imperative mood in the Ingush language. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the grammatical nature of imperative sentences in the Ingush language is described, their detailed characteristics are given. As a result of the study, five forms of the imperative mood in the affirmative and negative forms were identified as a means of expressing imperativeness in the Ingush language. Structural and semantic analysis of imperative sentences showed the presence in the language of such forms, with the help of which the meaning of the future tense can be traced (assigning and requesting imperative with the suffix -ахь/-аш); and the imperative verb can denote the one-time and multiple actions.
