THE ROLE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

Abstract. In information society education ceases to be the means of mastering of ready universally recognized knowledge and becomes the way of the information exchange of individuality with people around. In this article the difference between the notions knowledge and information is considered. Knowledge is the result checked by society practice. Its main characteristics are truth and consistency. Information is the data of any character which express the opinions of speakers. Sometimes these opinions have doubtful trustworthiness.
