ON THE WAY TO STABILITY, DIVERSITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AS CONCEPTUAL SUBSTANTIATION OF URBAN SPACE TRANSFORMATIONS

Abstract. The article reveals the basic ideas of sustainable development conception, townspeople’s specific everyday practices and urban space transformations corresponding to it. It is shown that sustainable development as a social conception is formulated as an integrated model that guarantees the stability, diversity, and quality of the town life, this tendency to regulate a wide range of urban development issues is critically comprehended.
