MULTIVERSES AND PARAMULTIVERSES IN SCREEN ARTS: THESAURUS OF PLOT GENERALIZED THEORY

Boiko Mikhail Evgen'evich
Academy of Media Industry in Moscow

Abstract. The article analyzes the applicability of plot theory to artistic works with the multivariate development of events. It is suggested using multiverse approach in order to avoid problems that can happen in the course of it. The idea of generalized plot as a chronologically- and causally-ordered statement of events in diegetic multiverse is given. Difference between multiverses and paramultiverses, universes and parauniverses is indicated. The definitions of the key terms of plot generalized theory are suggested.
