Abstract. The article conducts the analysis of the modern Russian society state. Some circumstances demonstrating the crisis of the Russian values are considered. Special attention is paid to the absence of articulated social ideal. Appealing to it, the author substantiates the necessity of forming a new public ideal for the Russian society.
