Abstract. In the article the process of the formation of a youth movement, which got its name from the town of Lyubertsy, a suburb of Moscow, and had a significant influence on the sociocultural processes of Russia, is considered. The author shows the specificity of the Lyubers: ardour for sport, the Russian rock; clothes different from ordinary ones (loose trousers, T-shirt, sports cap) that allowed them to manoeuvre in scuffles organized by them; slang words, mainly of "criminal type" etc.
