EVOLUTION OF CONSTITUTIONAL JUSTICE IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND THE REPUBLIC OF ABKHAZIA

Abstract. The article studies the formation of constitutional justice within the post-Soviet space by the example of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia. The position of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and constitutional (statutory) courts in the system of constitutional justice is analyzed. The author studies the authorities of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Abkhazia in the sphere of constitutional control, also considers prerequisites to the establishment of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Abkhazia; and in addition researches the attempt of the Russian judicial reform in the sphere of the merger of the Superior Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation and the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. A variant of the further development of the reform as well as its importance for Abkhazia are considered.
