Abstract. The article examines the basic provisions of securitization theory as one of the trends of security studies within the post-modernist approach to analyzing the phenomenon of international security. The author identifies origins of the theory (constructivism), characterizes its further development (considering interrelation between the approaches of Copenhagen and other schools of security studies, in particular, Parisian and Welsh ones).
