Specific Features of the Kyrgyz People’s Ethnic Etiquette

Abstract. The study aims to identify specific features characterising ethnic etiquette of the Kyrgyz people. The article attempts to examine the main rules of etiquette belonging to the traditional Kyrgyz society. It is noted that ethnic etiquette and pedagogical knowledge are closely linked together and interdependent on each other in traditional culture. Special attention is paid to etiquette proxemics, to the vocative. The work substantiates the idea that nomadic way of being also found its reflection in traditional etiquette. Scientific novelty of the research lies in conducting a comprehensive analysis of ethnic etiquette and its connection to nomadic way of living of the ethnic group. As a result, it was proved that the main principles underlying ethnic etiquette rules of the Kyrgyz people were principles of eldership, gender and social stratification.
