Sanatorium-Resort Activity in the Mongolian People’s Republic in the 1920-1930s

Abstract. The article considers cultural and historical aspects of sanatorium-resort activity in the Mongolian People’s Republic in the 1920-1930s. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the author describes integration of the Tibetan medicine into the health care system of Mongolia at the beginning of the XX century. The research findings are as follows: the author shows that balneotherapy played an essential role in practices of the Tibetan medicine and was naturally incorporated into the national sanatorium-resort system.
