Abstract. The article considers the problem of cultural hybridity in the USA Chinatown. The paper aims to trace manifestation of cultural hybridity in the USA history by the example of Chinatown area. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in the domestic historical science the history of the USA Chinatown is analysed from the viewpoint of the post-colonial theory. The findings indicate that Chinatown hybrid area located "in-between" cultures and civilizations, far away from the Chinese ethnos’s habitual residence, contributed to its otherness, formed identity of its population, gave birth to new cultural formations, transformed it into a locus of the Other/Outsider.
