Regional Specificity of the Kuban and Stavropol Industrial Enterprises Development in the Last Years of New Economic Policy

Abstract. The paper aims to identify specificity of industrial development of the southern regions - the Kuban and Stavropol Territory - in the context of the industrial reconstruction problem, which became relevant in the last years of New Economic Policy. The researcher’s attention is focused on analysing industrial enterprises activity in the North Caucasus agricultural regions in the period of transition from New Economic Policy to industrialization. Scientific originality of the study involves revealing specificity of industrial enterprises functioning in agricultural regions under conditions of changing economic paradigms. The conducted research allows concluding that in the mentioned period, cooperation of the agrarian sector and the related food processing industry falters due to the complicated socio-economic situation. Sectoral differentiation of enterprises mainly occurred in the Kuban region, and less frequently - in the Stavropol Territory; in both the regions there were a number of large-scale enterprises.
