Abstract. The article aims to show how anthropological conceptions of the British monk Pelagius differ from the Orthodox anthropology. Rare domestic works on the Pelagian theology are written mainly by pre-revolutionary ecclesiastical authors who undoubtedly consider the British monk a "real heretic". The paper doesn’t seek to rehabilitate the Pelagian theology and to dispute decisions of the Church Councils. The researcher considers the Pelagian anthropology in pure philosophical aspect, avoiding purely confessional arguments, which constitutes scientific originality of the study. The Pelagian anthropology is analysed from the philosophical viewpoint. The research findings are as follows: the author identifies and describes conceptions of the Pelagian anthropology that differ cardinally from the Orthodox doctrine.
