Transformation of Historical Narrative within Development of the Russian Philosophical and Historical Thought of the XVIII-XIX Centuries

Abstract. The paper aims to identify specificity of historical narrative transformations in the Russian historical thought of the XVIII-XIX centuries. The article examines different types of narration and their influence on formation of collective historical consciousness. Scientific originality of the study involves a comprehensive philosophical analysis of historical narrative forms. The findings indicate that the Russian historical thought developed within narrative tradition; ego-document and historical novel were prevalent forms of historical narrative.
