Poetics of Robert Sturua’s Production "Waiting for Godot - Part One" of S. Beckett’s Play "Waiting for Godot"

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to determine the type of theatre to which Robert Sturua’s production "Waiting for Godot - Part One" of S. Beckett’s play "Waiting for Godot" belongs. The article examines the artistic language, composition, sheds light on the process of forming the production meaning, its artistic content and finds a reason for the production’s poor reception by some reviewers. The paper is novel in that it is the first to analyse poetics of the work of one of the most significant directors of the second half of the XX - early XXI century. The results of the study will be of use for students and teachers of theatre educational institutions, as well as for theatre practitioners.
