Number, Composition and Salaries of Employees in Sverdlovsk Oblast Party Bodies in 1954-1966: From N. S. Khrushchev to L. I. Brezhnev

Abstract. The article aims to study the structure and number of the staff in the party leadership bodies of Sverdlovsk regional organisation of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and salaries of their employees during the specified historical period. Scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that the article attempts to analyse and introduce into scientific use new, never before published archival materials from the Center for Documentation of Social Organisations of Sverdlovsk Oblast, which is a former regional party archive. It is proved that the number composition of the party management apparatus did not undergo significant changes and salaries of its employees in themselves were not excessively large during the considered period.
