Negative Processes of the Second Economy during the Khrushchev "Thaw" (by the Materials of the BASSR)

Abstract. The research aims to identify negative processes that took place in the informal sector of the economy in the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic during the rule of N. S. Khrushchev (1953-1964). The work is novel in that it is the first in domestic and foreign historical studies to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the second economy during the "thaw" period in the BASSR on the basis of research publications by Russian authors, as well as previously unused archival materials of the Central State Historical Archive of the Republic of Bashkortostan. As a result, it has been shown in the regional perspective how negative processes in the informal sector of the Soviet economy grew in intensity.
