THE PRAGMATICS OF THE EXPRESSIONS OF THE SURPRISED REQUEST FOR REPETITION IN THE JAPANESE LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article is devoted to the pragmatics of three Japanese lexemes with the meaning of surprised request for repetition in response to the affirmation and hortatory - honto, maji and uso. On the basis of the analysis of the corps data the author formulates the conclusions on the differentiation of pragmatic basic functions between them: the request to confirm the truth of the proposition (honto), the sincerity of the interlocutor (maji) and the proper condition of the communication channel (uso). With the decrease in the degree of politeness of the utterance the number of restrictions to overcome which it requires to use a larger number of hedges is growing.
