PHONOSEMANTIC DESCRIPTION OF WATER SOUNDS (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE GERMAN AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES)

Abstract. In the article the comparative phonosemantic and quantitative analysis of German and Russian verbs nominating sounds of water is presented. The types of water sounding are singled out on the basis of the universal phonosemantic typology by S. V. Voronin. Some quantitative differences of onomatopoeia of water sounding from acoustic onomatopoeia that was considered by the author earlier are noted. Universal and specific features of liquid sounding in the German and Russian languages are ascertained.
