Abstract. The article studies the problem of postmodernist philosophy penetration into the aesthetics of mass literature. Basing on the material of the novel "Misery" by the American writer Stephen King the authors analyze the problem of forming a new type of relationship between the reader and the author, the conception of building "intellectual feminism" as a new type of literary thinking. The characteristic features of this work in the writer’s creativity, its polyphonic sounding, and special "postmodernist sensitivity" are singled out and described. The study reveals the processes of "intertext" formation within the framework of the novel relating to the product of mass culture.
