BRIDE Concept in the Russian Linguistic Worldview

Abstract. The article analyses functioning of the BRIDE concept in the Russian linguistic worldview. The research objective includes identifying nuclear and peripheral components of the BRIDE concept. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that the researchers reveal the content of the BRIDE concept in the Russian linguistic worldview, determine its current and historical meanings. The conducted research allows identifying etymological, nuclear and peripheral diachronic components of the concept under study. Component meanings of the BRIDE concept are described, specificity of its linguistic representation in the Russian language bearers’ consciousness is analysed taking into account synchronic and diachronic aspects.
