Problem "Man and War" in the Context of S. Faulks’s Aesthetical Search

Abstract. The article examines the factors that influenced the formation of aesthetical views of the famous British writer S. Faulks. Originality of the study lies in the fact that S. Faulks’s creative work has not been previously investigated in the Russian literary criticism. The paper shows that S. Faulks’s aesthetical views were formed under the influence of literary predecessors (Ch. Dickens, ?. Zola, D. H. Lawrence, J. Austen, G. Flaubert). The researcher argues that diachronic study of S. Faulks’s aesthetical search provides better understanding of philosophical and aesthetical foundations of his individual style and helps to clarify development trends of the modern British literature.
