Comparative Analysis of Metaphors with the Sphere Source "Water Space" in the Vietnamese and Russian Languages (by the Material of Economic Newspapers)

Abstract. The article examines the Russian and Vietnamese metaphors associated with water and water space. The paper aims to provide a comparative analysis of metaphors in newspaper language and to identify similarities and differences in the metaphorical meanings formed to describe economic phenomena. It is shown that metaphors with the sphere source "water space" represent the image of water in the Russian and Vietnamese cultures. The findings justify a conclusion that national cultural peculiarities influence the process of the metaphor formation.
