Thesaurus as a Means to Form Economics Students Foreign-Language Lexical Skills within the Space of Related Linguo-Didactic Categories

Abstract. The article analyses thesaurus-like linguo-didactic means, which serve to form economics students foreign-language lexical skills. The author reveals common features that lead to identification of the analysed means and specific features that differentiate thesaurus from other linguo-didactic categories. Methodological recommendations on work with thesaurus and thesaurus-like dictionaries are proposed. The conducted research allows concluding about advantages of thesaurus in comparison with other thesaurus-like dictionaries, considering the fact that thesaurus not only gives systemic representation of lexemes but allows easy formation of semantic relations and concepts in learners cognitive space, which raises efficiency of teaching foreign-language vocabulary.
