Traditional and Author’s Symbols in Lin Huiyin’s Poetry

Abstract. The paper aims to identify and describe traditional and author’s symbols in poetical works of the Chinese poetess Lin Huiyin. Scientific originality of the study is conditioned by the fact that symbolism in Lin Huiyin’s poetry has not been previously investigated in domestic literary criticism and sinology. The article for the first time introduces poems from Lin Huiyin’s poetical collection "My Heart Is a Lotus Flower: Classical Collection of Lin Huiyin’s Works" into scientific circulation. The research findings are as follows: traditional and author’s symbols in Lin Huiyin’s poetry are identified and analysed.
