Non-Linguistic Students’ Interferential Mistakes When Translating English-Language Texts of Juridical Subject Area

Abstract. The paper aims to identify and systematize non-linguistic students’ interferential mistakes when translating the English-language texts of juridical subject area. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the authors provide a comprehensive analysis of students’ translation mistakes and suggest an interdisciplinary approach to the problem of linguistic interference in the process of a bilingual linguistic personality formation. The research findings are as follows: the authors propose a classification of the most frequent translation mistakes, identify their causes and highlight methodology to develop students’ bilingual skills so as to reduce linguistic interference and, consequently, frequency of translation mistakes.
