Abstract. The aim of the study is to establish the role of conceptual metaphors in the understanding of cognitive processes by native speakers of the German language within the framework of metaphorical collocations analysis. The scientific originality of the work lies in the fact that it was the first to carry out a systematic analysis of metaphorical collocations, the basic components of which are the nominees of cognitive processes. As a result of the study, metaphorical concepts common and unique for the considered cognitive processes were identified, containing analog-associative representations of native speakers about cognitive activity. Also, the features of conceptual metaphors compatibility in the description of cognitive processes in texts were analysed.
Key words and phrases: когнитивные процессы, анализ коллокаций, концептуальная метафора, метафорическая коллокация, концептуальный бленд, cognitive processes, collocation analysis, conceptual metaphor, metaphorical collocation, conceptual blend
