Features of D. Trump’s Identity during the Immigration Crisis (Based on Posts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)

Abstract. The article examines the features of representing the identity of the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump. The aim of the study is to determine the methods of representation and the key strategy of D. Trump’s identity as an American political leader during the immigration crisis. The scientific originality of the research lies in considering the identity of a politician in a synchronic aspect, namely, in a difficult period of the immigration crisis for the country, where the strategy of discrediting becomes a pivotal one. As a result of the study, the manifestation of the collective character of a politician’s identity at the time of the crisis was revealed. The president acts as a representative of a certain group, namely on behalf of his party and people, which correlates with the ideas of political discourse.
