Abstract. The paper aims to identify the principles of world model functioning in the novel "Everything Under" by D. Johnson. The article describes characteristic features of world model in the modern British literature and reveals the specificity of "two-worldness" functioning in the novel "Everything Under" by D. Johnson. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that D. Johnson’s novel was not previously subjected to literary analysis and poetological problems associated with world model transformations in the modern British literature have not been previously investigated in the domestic literary criticism. As a result, it is proved that D. Johnson’s novel is based on the principle of transformed mythological (epical) two-worldness. This can be explained by the existence of natural chronotopic borders which the writer tries to overcome and by the specificity of figurative paradigm dynamics.
