Abstract. The paper aims to reveal the biographical and creative contexts of Armenia theme in M. S. Petrovykh’s lyrics. The poems "Armenia" (1966), "The Middle Ages" (1967), "The Autumn of 1944…" (1968) are considered the poet’s incomplete Armenian cycle. Due to the insufficient topical study of M. S. Petrovykh’s poetry, the scientific originality of the research is determined by the fact that it considers the poems about Armenia as artistic integrity; gives the complex analysis of all the poems in the Armenian cycle right up to the acoustic level. As a result, it has been revealed that the integrity of the poems is caused by the motives of memory, culture, distant desired land and transparent images. The form of the poetry is traditional. The cycle is characterized by the religious component analogy. The verse calendar and the lyrical plot correspond to the events in the author’s life, therefore the above-mentioned poems have features of a diary.
