Morphothemic Approach to Studying the Verbal and Cognitive Category of Situational Subjectivity

Abstract. The purpose of the research is to provide rationale for using a formal semantic operational approach, or the method of morphothemic analysis, as a method by which the semantic structure of a language unit is investigated in two dimensions: as an objectifying unit at the level of the language system and as a representative unit at the level of context. Scientific novelty lies in identifying the propositional nature of units used in an utterance with situational reference in the subject position, applying a morphothemic model to the analysis of such language units, as well as carrying out typification of language units with an objectified situational component in their semantics. The research findings serve as the basis for further operational analysis of the structure of the situational syntagmeme and the situational morphotheme of a language and speech unit.
