Theme of Ageing in Anne Enright’s Creative Work (by the Example of the Novel "The Green Road")

Abstract. The paper aims to reveal artistic originality of the novel "The Green Road" (2015) by the modern Irish English-language writer Anne Enright. The research objective includes identifying specificity of the "old age" concept interpretation in the writer’s prose. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the researcher introduces new literary material into scientific circulation, analyses the literary work which is not translated into Russian. The conducted research allows concluding that the author’s artistic techniques promote deconstruction of the traditional image of a wise old lady and contribute to formation of a cardinally new image in the Irish national worldview.
