Productive Term Formative Models in Sublanguage of Bridge Building in the English Language

Abstract. The research objectives are as follows: to identify productive term formative models in the sublanguage of bridge building in the English language, to differentiate nuclear terms. Scientific originality of the study is conditioned by the fact that productive term formative models in the English language are for the first time investigated by the example of the subject area "Bridge Building". The findings indicate that word-composition and initial abbreviation are among the most frequent term-formative means. It is shown that the nuclear term "bridge" is highly productive in formation of multicomponent and phrasal terminological combinations, which is explained by specifics of the analysed terminology.
