Genre Diversity of Modern News Agencies Texts

Abstract. The aim of the study is to determine the features of the genre diversity of modern news agencies texts. The article presents the results of a comparative content analysis of the publications of the RIA Novosti and Reuters news agencies for 2021 on the subject of genre features, gives a specific characteristic of the most common genres, their role in achieving the key goals of the mass media, offers an assessment of the qualitative and quantitative diversity of content. The scientific originality of the research lies in a comprehensive analysis of the genre features of the materials of news agencies, and not all the print and online media. As a result, it is proved that news agencies, despite the transition from work on the supply of content to other media to direct communication with the final mass audience, remain committed mainly to short information standardized notes.
