The PATRIOT Concept in the Focus of Lexicographic Sources in Chinese

Abstract. The purpose of the research is to identify the cognitive features of the PATRIOT concept belonging to the Chinese national worldview. The paper attempts to provide a lexicographic description of the Chinese PATRIOT concept, using the method of conceptual analysis developed by Z. D. Popova, I. A. Sternin. Scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the Chinese PATRIOT concept has not been previously studied using lexicographic methods. As a result, 38 linguistic naming units of the PATRIOT concept have been explicated from lexicographic sources in Chinese, the cognitive interpretation of which helped to identify 8 cognitive features.
