Abstract. The purpose of the research is to determine the features of the grammaticalised use of the andative and venitive in the Tatar and Japanese languages, to study translations of expressions containing these verbs into Tatar and Japanese. Scientific originality of the paper is determined by the lack of research on the andative and venitive of the Tatar and Japanese languages using examples from a work of fiction, an incomplete description of the subject-logical content of the verb within the utterances and context. As a result of a comparative analysis of the andative and venitive of the Tatar and Japanese languages, a number of typological similarities have been identified: the grammaticalised use of the verbs under consideration in both languages implies the implementation of the function of the orientative, gradual development of an action, emergence/beginning of an action or state.
