Abstract. The aim of the study is to determine the objects and product of the reception of O. Wilde's mas¬culine-feminine dichotomy in T. Stoppard’s play "The Invention of Love". The scientific novelty of the research lies in the first consideration of the dichotomy elements in "The Invention of Love" from the point of view of the creative reception of gender traits reflected in the works "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "The Ideal Husband" by O. Wilde. As a result, we conclude that the object of deconstruction is O. Wilde’s works of art, the interpretation of certain aspects of his creative work, and the product of reception is the concept of the author-recipient’s thinking expressed in a new work of art.
