Case Form of Substantives of Aspectual Semantics of Initial Phase in the English and Russian Languages

Abstract. The aim of this article is to identify the specific features of the case and prepositional forms of the substantives of the aspectual semantics of the initial phase in the Russian and English languages. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the features of the adverbial modifiers of temporal-aspectual semantics are considered including the substantives of the initial phase in various case and prepositional forms. As a result, it has been proved that in the Russian language, the case form of the substantive "начало" ("beginning") in adverbial modifiers strictly correlates with the prepositional one and is limited to four cases. In English, the prepositional form of the substantives "beginning", "start" as a part of adverbial modifiers is limited to one case and is compensated by the variety of the prepositional one.
