Abstract. The aim of the study is to identify the main virtual genres of the German-language environmental Internet discourse. The article clarifies the content of the notion “Internet discourse”, systematizes approaches to its study, describes the features of the environmental Internet discourse and determines its role in the formation of the German-language environmental worldview. The scientific novelty lies in the research and comprehensive description of the environmental Internet discourse from the point of view of the communicative-pragmatic approach. As a result, it has been concluded that the virtual genres of environmental discourse in the Federal Republic of Germany are diverse and widely represented on the Internet complementing the traditional types and genres of environmental discourse, disseminating environmental knowledge among the Internet users, satisfying the communicants’ need to talk about environmental topics, encouraging the Germans to behave consciously towards the environment.
