Abstract. The aim of the study is to determine the degree of spelling occasionalisms usage in Spanish social networks and messengers and their influence on the generally accepted norm of Spanish writing. The scientific novelty lies in a classification of Spanish spelling occasionalisms in the Internet discursive space. As a result, the existence of two main types of spelling occasionalisms in the language of the Spanish Internet space has been proved: usualized abbreviations used to save language resources and author’s occasionalisms-graphons, which are the result of a search for expressive means in a message that is often limited in volume and response time.
Key words and phrases: испанский язык, орфография, окказионализм, графон, ошибка, Spanish language, spelling, occasionalism, graphon, error
