Abstract. The paper is devoted to the analysis of the polyphonic novel “Three Apples Fell from the Sky” by the modern Russian-speaking Armenian writer Narine Abgaryan. The aim of the study is to identify the main discursive lines of the novel that determine its architectonics, a set of ontological problems, cultural contexts, thematic range and intertextual space. The study is original in that it is the first to identify and describe the following discourses in the said work: biblical, gender, enlightenment, nominological and numerological. The content of the paper is determined by a consistent consideration of different levels of the multi-layered novel and their scientific interpretation. As a result of summarising the discursive lines, two key metacodes have been identified: the philosophy of altruism is of vital importance in any period of world history; the gender discourse of the novel emphasises the underestimated role of women’s enlightenment. Much attention is paid to the interpretation of expressive means, i.e. exotic words, ethnographic realia, metaphors, oxymoron, symbolism of numbers, names, as well as intertextemes, including the author’s references to the prototext novel “One Hundred Years of Solitude” by Gabriel García Márquez .
