THEORETICAL MODEL TO DEVELOP ENGINEER’S FOREIGN-LANGUAGE ARGUMENTATIVE SPEECH CULTURE

Abstract. The article offers a theoretical model to develop the future engineer’s foreign-language argumentative speech culture. Taking into account the typology of difficulties in perceiving foreign-language oral speech, the author has identified the key communicative characteristics: logicality, richness of content, communicative appropriateness, prosodic arrangement of foreign-language speech and the addressee factor. The study contributes to developing linguo-didactic conceptions on the essence and content of the future engineer’s foreign-language argumentative speech culture. The author clarifies the definition as well as structural and meaningful characteristics of the mentioned phenomenon. The findings can be used when teaching professional foreign-language communication to students of other specialities.
