On Potential of Using Game Technologies when Teaching Foreign Language to Military Students

Abstract. The article aims to reveal relevance of using game technologies in foreign language classes at military higher school. Relying on an analysis of domestic and foreign publications on the use of game technologies at different levels of education and in different training areas, the authors reveal the potential of using game technologies in educational process. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that relying on the quantitative research results, the authors justify efficiency of lexical games based on relevant military terminology. The research findings are as follows: considering the data of the conducted experiment, the authors prove that game technologies can be efficiently used not only to form military students’ lexical competence but also to develop their moral and psychological qualities.
