Multimedia Educational Programmes in the Process of Teaching English: Implementation Experience at Secondary School

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to provide theoretical justification and to conduct experimental testing of multimedia effectiveness in creating foreign-language environment in the process of developing all the types of speech activity. The article examines experience of implementing multimedia educational programmes in the process of teaching English at the senior stage of secondary school using the city of Kazan as an example. Scientific novelty of the study lies in a proposed classification of modern multimedia technologies which to a great extent facilitates the choice of resources in the process of teaching English at secondary school. As a result of a pedagogical experiment, it is proved that multimedia technologies increase effectiveness of developing the level of proficiency in all the types of speech activity in schoolchildren at the senior stage of education.
