Development of Special Education Software

Abstract. The research objectives are as follows: to provide a theoretical and legal analysis of legislation on social protection for persons with visual impairment, to develop a software solution which allows visually impaired persons to compensate for visual deficiency during interaction with informational educational environment. The article examines the information access problem facing young people with visual impairments in the information age. Relying on an analysis of existing experience, the authors identify the main difficulties students with visual impairments face when working with an electronic English textbook. Scientific originality of the study involves justifying the potential of computer technologies when teaching English to special needs students. The research findings are as follows: the authors develop a unique software solution that allows blind students to solve difficulties arising when working with the English Grammar eBook.
