Submitted: 29.06.2021
Abstract. The work aims to develop a model for teaching foreign students to write an abstract for a research paper in Russian. The article considers genre studies related, psycholinguistic and linguistic aspects of written speech in the abstract genre, correlates the process of generating written speech and necessary skills corresponding to the components of competencies in writing an abstract. Scientific novelty lies in the fact that the research develops methodology that is based on the notion that teaching foreign students to write in the abstract genre is considered as a process of forming a set of skills for reinterpreting a primary paper in Russian. The teaching methodology elaborated by the researcher is being tested experimentally. As a result of the research, a teaching model that is based on identifying three blocks of leading competencies (discursive competency, speech competency, language competency) and corresponding skills is presented.
